My garage roof needs fixing. It leaks. It's been leaking for a good amount of time now. The weekend is suppose to be beautiful so it would be the perfect time to fix it, but there is a freakin' telephone line laying on top of it. (As you can see in the photo above). A telephone line I don't use. I don't have a landline phone. I wouldn't be so bitchy about this freakin' telephone line if it was suspended in the air like it's supposed to be. Really, all the company needs to do is stretch it out and tighten it.
I called my local telephone company and told them I want it to be removed pronto! Before I even got to speak with a Rep, I had to jump through mega hoops and I don't know how many times I had to push a button on the keypad to get a live person.
They offer every choice on the phone, but they never offer the choice you need and for me that would be Customer Service Non-Account holder. Once I mentioned I was not an account holder, it was like "I can't process your work order." WTH? This is your damn telephone line. I chosed not to have any telephone service with your company. I do not and will not ever have a landline phone. So come get your freakin' line or fix it so it's not laying on my garage's roof!
So the incompetent moron told me to dial this 3 digit number for technician support or whatever it he called it and I thought he was telling me to dial this number to get a different department that can help me get this work done. I pushed the 3 digit number and it sent me to my telephone provider. WTH? My VoIP service company and the landline telephone company are two different companies. They have nothing to do with the landline telephone line.
But, at least she was helpful. She processed an internal report for me. I get a strange feeling the landline company is going to ignore it.
If worse comes to worse, I will disconnect it from my house and let it hang on the street. Maybe then they will take it away.

What jackasses! Geesh, how is that for rotten customer service! You know, I would do exactly that. If they don't show up to take care of it, cut it down and let it hang on the street, perhaps then they will come take care of it.
Reminds me of our cable company. We got digital cable, phone and internet and the idiots from the old cable company wouldn't come remove their old cable wiring but yet, they wanted their old cable channel boxes back. Hubby refused to take them in until they got off their rumps and came out here to remove their old wiring. It took some time but they finally got with the program and removed them.
Perhaps you should contact your local media Miss S. Let the news company come out and take some lovely photo's of it!
I think I may have to go that route and disconnect it from my house. I'm not waiting on when it's convenient for them to come out and fix it. It's been like this since I moved into the house almost 4 years ago and I know it's been like that much longer.
Hubby's late Grandpa used landline service so...
That's another bitch post I will make another time about the cable wire here. I have High Speed my ass. More like dial up because the wire is the original wire from over 50 years ago! Have to get on the cable company's ass too.
The phone company came today after I told hubby yesterday they gave me the run around. He called after he came home from work and gave them crap.
They said they were coming in 10 minutes. They came in 3 ninutes. I found out they were working down the street. lol
I told them I wanted it GONE! And it's gone! Woo Hoo!
Sophia,
Glad to hear that you finally got the phone company to remove the telephone line.
I hate it when I call a company and it seems like every choice is listed except the problem I have. Plus some companies make it difficult to find out how to speak to a live person and don't list it as an option. (This is one of my peeves-Don't make it so difficult just to speak to a live person!)
Hey Sandie,
I know! This one had a combination touch pad or by voice recognition. I cleared my throat when the bot lady was giving out the options and then the bot lady said, "I'm sorry, please try again or use your..." can't remember what she said. LOL
They think they are making it easier by going through all these options, but most of them are not even applicable. It's just so annoying.
What happened to having a real person pick up your calls? Some of the good ol' days technology is way better than today's technology and at least I'd be speaking to a LOCAL Representative and not someone from India!
