Thump...Thump...Thump... Dang Loud Car Stereos!

Monday, June 15, 2009

I love summertime...hot weather, hanging out by the pool, backyard bbq's and spending time outdoors.

However, I don't enjoy thumping loud car stereos!

We live in a quiet area of our neighborhood, but for the past few weeks...we have had to put up with cars driving by with their stereo radios cranked up and thumping! You can hear them coming a 1/2 mile away.

When they are approaching, my windows start to vibrate...yes folks, it is indeed that loud! Earlier today, one of my precious Boyd's Bears figurines vibrated right off my knick-knack shelf and busted because of a passing car who had their car stereo blaring.

We have noticed that 80% of these people are young drivers....teenagers but there have also been adults who are GUILTY of doing this!

We have a 17 day old grand daughter who visits us often and on Friday, one of these idiot drivers with their car stereo blaring, woke her up from a sound sleep.

Why don't people have common sense? You don't drive through neighborhoods with your radio blasting! Don't get me wrong, I like to jam out to a good classic rock song myself, but I do it going down the state highway where it doesn't bother residents!

There are laws here regarding car stereos but, these folks whiz by so quickly, you can't get their license plate information.

So, my beef today deals with disrespectful people who invade my quiet space with their loud car stereos.

I can relate! I hear them coming miles away...it's that darn humming noise and as it gets closer you realize it's some punk boy blaring his music.

Then they park their cars and chat with their buddies blaring their damn music. Not everyone wants to listen to some bad boy hip-hop music.

No respect or regard to anyone but themselves.

Time to pull out those earplugs!

Another one here who can relate! While I have not anything break there have been times when I thought the windows were vibrating so much that they might break. Sometimes there is so much bass all you hear is boom boom boom and you can't even tell what the song is or what type of music is being played (not that this is even my concern)! I think it is very rude to assume that everyone wants to hear your music! I don't force my music tastes on anyone and don't feel that this should be forced on me either.

We have the same sentiments. I hate loud sounds and showy people as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings. Hey in case you have a great business idea I'd say just go for it.

I think our government must increase the penalty for those who will be caught engage in noise pollution?

This "annoying noise" is really a threat to our own health. They must be educated on how the noise they create, affects each others health.

I read your post and nodded my head the whole time in agreement. I'm not trying to be a fuddy-duddy but I feel this is a safety issue. There's no way these kids who play their bass so loud can hear police or emergency sirens. It's a dangerous distraction. I just can't figure out why the bass has to be so loud that I can hear it, and I'm not even riding in the car with them.
