This is a short rant, but it's an annoying one. I understand the need for car alarms. Really I do.
Two nights ago from 10PM to 3:30AM, someone's dang car alarm was going off every 10 seconds. I kid you not! It's not your standard car alarm, but it's the one that have multiple sounds. You know the ones...siren, car horn, whirly, etc.
I was working late as usual and I heard the car alarm going, but my windows in the living room was closed so the sound was muffled. I went to bed at 2AM. We leave our windows open and I didn't fall asleep until after 3:30AM. I wanted to strangle whoever it was letting their car alarm go off for 5.5 hours straight!

Oh...I so know what you mean about that! A few months ago I got into a verbal battle with one of my neighbors who left their car alarm go off for 2.5 hours and I thought I was going to go nuts! I finally called the police and they came out and got them up to come out and turn the dang thing off!
I would have called the police.
I always thought there was a law against loud noises after a certain time at night. When I was in Chicago our dog would be outside and bark at any and everything. One afternoon the police were at our door. In Chicago at least there's a nuisance law where the noise can't continue over 20 minutes no matter what time it is, day or night.
