I have a big pet peeve that I need to vent about today. I have been in Direct Sales since 1989 so that has been half of my lifetime and networking my home business online since 1998.
The past few years I have seen an increase of folks who join Direct Sales Businesses online and immediately go around spamming forums looking for new recruits. Then they get these newbies who join and are serious about joining a home business and get no support or leadership from their recruiter. ugh! This really ticks me off to no end when I see newbies posting that they are not getting any help by their uplines or recruiters.
I have written several articles on why it's important to join an experience team manager or recruiter who is in the business for the long haul. It's important to interview who your upline will be and find out ahead of time what kind of support they offer. You need to investigate and do your research before joining any company and then research on who your team leader will be. You want to stay away from folks who are brand new and who are spamming forums with ads.
Every time I preach this, I get a slew of nasty posts and emails from newbie recruiters telling me it's not fair to tell folks to join under experienced people and that is fine and dandy if you want to disagree with me. However, it's usually the same folks who join forums and just spam ads at other people.
If you are going to recruit for any type of home business, make sure you are in it for the LONG HAUL. You need to build your personal sales before you build your team. A team member needs your experience and know-how to succeed and that means you have to work your business first...get the experience and then add new team members to your team. Furthermore, it is indeed your JOB to train and support your team members.
Okay...stepping off my soap box now.

What a funny thing for a newbie to say. If I was joining a DS company, I sure as hell would want an experienced and successful sponsor. To me that's common business sense.
Everything requires research and doing your homework before diving in. What part of this do folk don't understand?
I agree that people need to investigate before joining a company and research the team leader as well. I also feel that people who only spam forums should take the time to spend a little more time on forums-there have been times when I have seen that someone is interested in the company or products and it so happens that the spammer doesn't even seen it because they are too busy spamming!
