I have been networking my home business online for approximately 10 years now and I belong to numerous online forum boards and networking groups. In addition, I own and operate my own work at home forum board and moderate several others.
The past few months I have been getting really irritated by several forum board owners who feel its okay to send out a stinking email spam to all of their forum members using the admin function of their forum board.
In my personal opinion, this function is meant for important matters and not for spamming your forum board members.
Examples of Admins spamming their forum members:
1. Sending out a mass email asking all members if they want to exchange blog and/or website links with the forum board owner! WTH???? That is something you post on your forum board and if members are interested, they will respond. You don't spam email every member of your forum board with that nonsense.
2. Sending out a mass email to all of your forum board members letting them know that you are running an advertising sale on your website. Again....this is "news" you post on your forum board...do not email that out to all of your forum members.
3. Sending out a mass email to let us all know that you will be on vacation and sitting on your ass for the next week. Ugh...again, post that nonsense on your forum and quit clogging up our emails!
4. Sending out a mass email to all your forum members letting us know that you are giving away a free "report" on such and such topic. Why oh why...oh why...do forum owners think we all need that information?
The point of my rant today is this....as a forum board owner it is your job to lead your forum or networking group with the utmost professionalism. It is NOT professional to send out unwanted spam emails to all of your forum board members when the content of that so-called spam, can be properly posted on your forum!
Get with the program forum board owners and stop spamming your members!

I so agree with you 200%! When I agreed to receive emails from the Admin (forum owner) I expect them to be newsworthy. I didn't agree to be sent crappy SPAM.
What makes this even worse yet is the fact these forum owners aren't even active on their forums, but as soon as they feel the need to self-promote they abuse the mass forum email feature.
I get enough spam crap from spammers, I certainly don't need forum owners sending me their crap stuff either because seriously I'm not a bit interested!
I totally agree with you. It is for very important matters or changes in the forum itself and nothing more.
I also agree!! Another peeve of mine is about forum Admins who spam members asking for donations all the time...it bugs me more if it happens on a forum that is pretty much a dead one!
